Bulk Photo Resizer ("the tool", "this app") is a free, client-side image resizing and compression tool available at ashfaqanwar.com/imagecompressor. It is built and maintained by an individual developer, Ashfaq Anwar C K, not a company. This page explains what data the tool touches and what happens to it.
Whether you drag-and-drop files, use "Pick Folder" / "Add Files", or import from Google Drive or Google Photos, your images are read and processed entirely inside your browser (using the Canvas and File APIs). They are not transmitted to any server we operate. Closing or refreshing the tab discards everything — nothing is retained after your session ends unless you explicitly download the result or choose to save it to a folder, Google Drive, or Google Photos.
The "Google Drive" button lets you optionally sign in with your own Google account to pick images or folders from your own Drive (you can select several folders and files at once), and — if you choose Google Drive as your destination — to save compressed output back into a new folder in your own Drive. Specifically:
drive.readonly) solely so it can list the folder(s)/files you explicitly pick with Google's file picker, and download the bytes of the images you selected.drive.file access, which only lets it create a new destination folder and upload the files it creates there — it cannot see or modify any other files already in your Drive. The "Google Photos" button lets you optionally sign in with your own Google account to pick photos from Google Photos (picking happens on photos.google.com in a new tab, with Google's own multi-select), and — if you choose Google Photos as your destination — to upload compressed output back into your Google Photos library, optionally into a named album. Specifically:
photospicker.mediaitems.readonly access, which only lets it read the specific photos you selected in the Google Photos picker session — not your wider library.photoslibrary.appendonly access, which only lets it add new items (and, if you name an album, create that album) — it cannot read, modify, or delete your existing photos or albums. Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs (Drive and Photos alike) will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The tool remembers your last-used settings (output format, quality, resize dimensions, naming options, destination choice, theme, etc.) using your browser's localStorage. This stays on your device only — it is never transmitted anywhere and is specific to the browser you're using.
This page uses Google Analytics (via gtag.js) to understand basic, aggregated usage such as page views and general browser/device type. This does not include the content of any images you process. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.
The tool loads a few open-source libraries from public CDNs to function (Bootstrap, jQuery, Font Awesome, JSZip, exif-js, SweetAlert2, and Google's own Identity Services / Picker / Drive API / Photos Picker API / Photos Library API scripts when you use Google Drive or Google Photos import/export). Requests to these CDNs are subject to the respective providers' own privacy policies and may log standard request data such as IP address.
This tool is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the tool after changes means you accept the updated policy.
